Most of the time I will watch the video at 3 times the speed because I’m not interested in watching the anime or have already seen the anime. Usually I watch through an episode to see what I want to gif and stop to convert when I spot a scene that I could potentially make a gif out of. You actually want it to be lossless because you don't lose the quality of the video when converting. Considering you're going to be converting a 20 second video, it doesn't matter that it's lossless. It thinks this because you are converting a video without any loss in quality, which of course makes a file bigger. You get this warning because HandBrake will assume that your encode is going to take a long time and will be huge. It'll probably give you a warning saying your encode will be "lossless". You want to set this to "constant quality" and put the slider all the way to the right so that it will say "RF: 0". On the right of the framerate options, you are able to change the quality of the encode. On top of that, if I were to set the framerate any higher it would start adding duplicate frames which will make the animation choppier as well. This is why I use this method, as it will convert exactly what I need without skipping anything. When frames are skipped, you are missing a piece of the animation, making your gifs choppy. Check "variable framerate" as well.Ī problem with recording scenes from your screen with video recorders like OBS or quicktime, or converting with KMPlayer, is that these softwares will skip frames.

MP4 and you want the Framerate (FPS) to be “same as source”. Once you’ve chosen your destination folder you’re going to have to adjust the presets a little bit. You can’t do anything just yet because before anything, you will also need to open the video file in Handbrake. When you open HandBrake you will see this screen. If you have downloaded whatever you want to gif, it’s time to open up your video file in VLC and open up Handbrake.
